Expanding Views

This fall, Top Producer and Farm Journal are giving two lucky readers the opportunity to attend Agritechnica, the world's largest farm show, in Hanover, Germany.

Farmers 35 and under can apply for the Top Producer trip, Nov. 11–15. The winner will receive round-trip coach airfare for two, four nights' hotel accommodations, daily breakfast, Agritechnica show tickets and invitations to the Young Farmer Party and international Young Farmer Conference.

Transportation and two nights' hotel accommodations are also offered for the Top Producer Young Farmer Program in Chicago on Jan. 26, where you can discuss the trip with your U.S. peers.

Farmers more than 35 years old are invited to enter the contest for the Farm Journal trip, Nov. 7–11. Included is roundtrip coach airfare, four nights' hotel accommodations with breakfast, show tickets and the VIP opening ceremony.

Marketing View. Volatility and increased margin pressure makes your marketing plan more important than ever. That's why Farm Journal Media is holding a Marketing Rally, Dec. 3–4, 2009, in Chicago to help producers improve their marketing skills.

This is a powerhouse event where 15 of the nation's leading market analysts will participate in a Marketing Roundtable discussion for the "U.S. Farm Report" television program. Yep, 15 analysts on one stage…at the same time. You'll learn about the various marketing philosophies and which best fits your approach to risk management.

Throughout the event, analysts will be on hand to meet with you personally and explain their philosophies. Eight of them are offering breakout sessions where you can learn more about their approaches to marketing the 2010 crop. See the Marketing Rally blog at for more info.
