TJ Technologies Releases Challenge 2050 Liquid Fertilizer

TJ Technologies Inc., an agricultural company based in Watertown, S.D. dedicated to developing and providing plant-focused microbial technologies and micronutrient products to growers, recently announced the introduction of Challenge 2050 Liquid Fertilizer with mycorrhizae to its product line. The new product is available now for the 2013 crop year.

“Challenge 2050 is an exciting, ground breaking fertilizer technology that will allow mychorrizal fungi to be used in conventional agriculture systems to produce yield results over and above conventional system standards,” says TJ Technologies, Inc. President, Tom Johnson.

In independent, multiple-location replicated field trials, Challenge 2050 returned a consistent, positive yield response with a low product use rate of only one quart per acre. It can be applied as a supplement to a starter or pop-up fertilizer program or with water alone. Challenge 2050 is a co-packaged two component system consisting of a liquid nutrient component and a liquid microbial/mycorrhizae additive. Challenge 2050 has been proven in field trials to increase root growth and the mycorrhizal hyphae are known to become an extension of the root.

The external hyphae of mycorrhizae found in Challenge 2050 facilitate a process that increases the transport of water and nutrients from the soil and feed them directly into the plant and/or store them for later use, thereby significantly increasing a crop’s yield potential and profitability.

The increased root growth and extension response generated by Challenge 2050 is not duplicated by other fertilizer treatments. While Challenge 2050 performs well independently, it also complements many other starter fertilizer programs by providing a synergistic beneficial nutrient and biological additive component.

Challenge 2050 is a new release for 2013 for use on corn and soybeans. The mycorrhizae component provides a multitude of proven benefits to corn and soybean plants including, but not limited to, enhanced water utilization and increased phosphate and nitrogen uptake.

“Experts tell us that agriculture needs to double food production by 2050 to feed the expanding world population. This is a product that I believe will be instrumental in helping agriculture meet this challenge in the face of declining phosphorous inventories and limited water supply.
