Too Much Rain or Too Little, No Happy Medium for Farmers

Too much rain or too little? What are you seeing in your area?

Ohio crops could use a drink according to a Pickaway County farmer. AgDay Meteorologist Mike Hoffman, says they might be in luck with potential showers and thunderstorms in their forecast. Despite thirsty corn, USDA says Ohio’s corn crop is currently rated as 65% good to excellent.

Over in south central Nebraska, though, they are dealing with too much rain. However, Randy Uhrmacher, a Red Cloud County farmer, says he noticed the yellow spots disappearing as he finished up spraying. USDA reported Nebraska’s crops were rated 79% good to excellent.
