UCLA's Brain-Saving Unit For Stroke Victims

Every 40 seconds, someone in the U.S. will have a stroke. Many of them will die because they can’t get to a hospital quick enough to start treatment, an apparent problem in rural America.

For those that don’t die, there’s a real risk of severe brain damage. The University of California, Los Angeles has launched a mobile stroke unit on the West Coast to enable rapid delivery of brain-saving treatment.
