Ukraine continues to make steps to align itself with the European Union in advance of the Eastern Partnership Summit in November when a drafted Association Agreement with the E.U. is expected to be signed. On September 12, Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers unanimously approved the draft of the Association Agreement signaling Ukraine is ready to play ball with the E.U.
"Ukraine has made great progress, and every day it is making significant steps to meet the criteria. My personal opinion is that the agreement will be signed in November in Vilnius," stated Lithuanian Ambassador Petras Vaitieku-nas in his interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
On September 5, the Ukrainian Parliament adopted a number of new policies in attempts to comply with E.U. specs. Determined action and tangible progress in the areas of fair elections, reform implementation and elimination of selective justice were all addressed by the September 5 action, to the approval of E.U. observers.
As Ukraine steers itself toward E.U. compliance and then integration, new markets for Ukrainian commerce, including ammonia and urea, will encourage production at a reasonable cost that may rival YARA and as Ukraine steps out of the shadows of the Former Soviet Union, a bright future awaits with the European Union.
