Update on 'Actively Engaged' Rules

New rules on what's considered "actively engaged" announced by the Bush administration have prompted a lot of concern in farm country. But that's in part due to a lack of detailed info. That, however, should be addressed by release of the 4-PL Handbook which is to be available on FSA's website:

Initial assessment: Those owning land should be "in the clear" on being considered "actively engaged," while those with rented ground may have more to prove.
