U.S. Red Meat Promoted to International Crowd at SIAL Paris

Creating export relationships for U.S. beef, pork and lamb are critically important. At the Salon International de l’Alimentation (SIAL) trade show, USMEF met with many country leaders to improve U.S. meat exports.

The U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) recently participated in the Salon International de l’Alimentation (SIAL) trade show held in Paris, France.

During the show, USMEF promoted U.S. beef, pork and lamb, while connecting U.S. exporters with importers from Europe, China, Japan, Russia, the Middle East, South America, Ukraine, Africa and Southeast Asia for face-to-face business meetings.

In this weekly audio report, (click player above) USMEF President and CEO Dan Halstrom says the business climate was very positive at SIAL Paris, which is held every two years.

He also explains that USMEF hosted a special meeting for importers and exporters of U.S. beef, providing them updates on the ongoing situation with the EU’s duty-free beef quota.

USMEF's participation in SIAL Paris was funded by the USDA Market Access Program (MAP), the Beef Checkoff Program and the National Pork Board.
