U.S. crops are moving along fast this season. As of this week, USDA reports 55% of the soybean crop is setting pods, way ahead of the five-year average of 35% at this time. Addtionally, 13% of the corn crop has dented. Normally only 3% is dented by this time.
While the crop is maturing quickly, its also suffering. As of this week, 23% of the corn crop has a very poor condition rating, 25% poor, 28% fair, 21% good and 3% excellent.
In soybeans, 15% is rated very poor, 22% poor, 34% fair, 26% good and 3% excellent.
