USDA Crop Production Report: Corn Rises, Soybeans Unchanged

In the USDA’s Nov. 9 crop production report, the national corn yield is expected to average 175.4 bushels per acre, up 0.8 bushels from the high in 2016. That’s also an increase of 3.6 bushels from the October forecast. 

Total corn production is forecast at 14.6 billion bushels, down 4 percent from last year, but up 2 percent from the previous month. 

Soybean yields are expected to average 49.5 bushels per acre, down 2.5 bushels from last year and unchanged from the October report.

Soybean production is forecast at a record 4.43 billion bushels, up 3 percent from last year, down 1 percent from October.
