USDA Declares Natural Disaster Areas in Louisiana

In August, Louisiana suffered from historic rainfall, damaging thousands of acres of crops, homes, and businesses. 

The USDA has now declared 11 parishes as primary natural disaster areas. 

According to the Ag Department, 12 adjacent parishes are also eligible for assistance from Farm Service Agency (FSA).

The latest estimate from Louisiana State University’s AgCenter puts losses at $277 million.
