Vermeer Unveils Innovative VR-Series Carted Rake Wheel

September 23, 2009 07:00 PM

PELLA, Iowa—The new Vermeer VR-Series Wheel Rake features a clean, balanced, high-clearance frame and toolbar for high-volume raking, and is available in 8- and 10-wheel sizes with maximum raking widths of 20' (6.096 m) and 22'7" (6.1778 m), respectively.
The VR-Series uses smart innovative design to maximize speed, convenience and reliability, even in tough haying conditions. The telescoping toolbar provides excellent tire clearance in all rake width settings. Quick "wrench-free” adjustments make it easy to change rake widths and windrow widths 2' to 7' (0.0696 m to 2.1336 m). A new, patented rubber torsion suspension requires no tools to adjust for variable ground pressure. The rugged 4"x6" (0.1016 m x 0.1524 m) channel tongue comes with adjustable hitch heights. And to extend operating life, greaseable tapered roller bearings are used in the rake wheels.
Positive, single-side rake configurations make it possible to turn windrows with either the left or right side. A splitter wheel option allows it to turn the center swath. Narrow width and flat folding rake wheels provide fast, easy transport.
