Thousands of people on the Arkansas-Oklahoma border are feeling the impact of widespread flooding along the swollen Arkansas River.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers saying the discharge from a major reservoir has peaked and they plan to reduce flows by the weekend.
Heavy rainfall intensified flooding in already saturated areas on Wednesday. The Arkansas River hit record levels in the state’s second-largest city of Fort Smith.
