Weekly Corn Export Inpsections Top Expectations

Following are highlights of the Weekly Grain Export Inspections Report for the week ended Sept. 20, 2012:

Comments:

Inspections were about 4 million bu. below last week's tally but above expecations. Inspections are running 25.0% behind year-ago compared to 22.0% behind last week. USDA's 2012-13 export forecast is at 18.8% below the previous marketing year at 1.250 billion bushels.

Wheat

Comments:

Inspections were nearly 7 million bu. below last week's tally and within expectations. Inspections are running 11.0% below year-ago, compared to 12.0% behind last week. USDA's export forecast for the 2012-13 marketing year is at 1.200 billion bu., up 14.3% from the previous marketing year.

Soybeans

Comments:

Export inspections were 2.094 million bu. above last week's tally but below expectations. Inspections for the new marketing year are running 0.4% ahead of year-ago, compared to 8.4% below last week. USDA's 2012-13 export forecast is at 1.055 billion bu., down 22.4% from year-ago.
