Three grand-prize winners of a drawing sponsored by Miller Electric Manufacturing Company and Farm Journal will receive hands-on welding training from Miller’s experts at its headquarters in Appleton, Wis., in mid-March. The two-day trip includes a tour of company facilities to see how Miller welding equipment is built. The winners will also choose one of three prize packages.
Grand-prize winners: Lyle Vanderwal, Lake City, Mich.; Melody Schlueter, Rock City, Ill.; Steve Longfellow, Greenville, Ohio. Each will receive a Digital Performance Series auto-darkening welding helmet, MIG welding gloves and INDURA cloth jacket, as well as their choice of a Bobcat 250 EFI engine-driven welding generator, a Millermatic 200 MIG/TIG/Stick welder or a Spectrum 625 X-Treme plasma cutter.
First-prize winners: Jim Russin, Sharon, Conn.; Dean Ocker, Chambersburg, Pa.; Dennis Peterson, Sherburn, Minn. These three farmers will each receive a black Digital Performance Series welding helmet.
Second-prize winners: Michael Nissen, Escalon, Calif.; Fred Thiltges, Rulo, Neb.; James Donlon, McGregor, Iowa; Curt Robbins, Fairfield, Ill.; David Quale, Cottage Grove, Wis.; Roger Pitchford, Norfork, Ark; Matt Petersheim, Townville, Pa.; Ralph Manternach, Cascade, Iowa; Mike Hanson, Elk Mound, Wis.; Michael Evans, Hidalgo, Ill. These 10 farmers will each receive Miller heavy-duty MIG/stick welding gloves.
