Tax reform is one of the many things on Congress’ docket in 2017. There are a group of lawmakers from the House and Senate trying to meld competing tax reform ideas together.
According to Paul Neifer, certified public accountant with CliftonLarsonAllen, it will be “likely” something will happen in September or October of 2017.
“If it doesn’t happen by the end of this year, it’s probably not going to happen because there’s a midterm election next year,” Neifer told AgDay host Clinton Griffiths.
In terms of what farmers should be doing now, Neifer summed it up in one word: nothing.
“Until we really know exactly what Congress is going to do, it’s hard to make those big decisions.”
