Worried about the drought that has been slowly building throughout the Midwest and Plains over the past several weeks? Help may be on the way soon, according to AgDay meteorologist Mike Hoffman.
“The good news is, we do have some systems coming,” he says.
That is a welcome announcement, especially in areas where drought has expanded or intensified. According to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor, released March 23, about 36% of the contiguous U.S. is experiencing conditions ranging from D0 (abnormally dry) to D3 (extreme drought).
Hoffman says the first system has already moved through the upper Midwest earlier on Friday. See what other precipitation may be in store over the coming days as Hoffman delivers his latest weather report.
