Wake-Up Weather for May 28, 2009

Showers and thunderstorms are moving out of Illinois Thursday morning, but may linger in Indiana into the afternoon hours. Since Monday, 1-3” of rain has fallen across the region, although some portions of east-central Illinois have escaped the bulk of the storms. Another tenth of an inch is possible across Illinois with 0.25” to 0.5” in Indiana before the precipitation ends.

Over the past three weeks, rainfall has finally returned to major wheat areas of southern Buenos Aires, which account for nearly 50% of the country’s production. The week of May 10th featured over 0.75” there with another 1-2” early this week.
