The final agenda for the 2015 AICPA Ag Conference is just about complete and I think it will be as good or possibly even better than the 2014 Ag Conference held in Austin, Texas last May. There will be good mix of presentations. There will not be just one focus on tax, accounting or producers, but a good mix of all.
Also, on the day before the official start of the conference, Chris Hesse and myself will be presenting a full day Farm Tax Update. This update will dig into some of the details that have arisen over the last year with practical guidance on how to prepare income tax returns for farmers. This seminar is not only for CPAs, but farmers who want to learn more about practical methods for saving income taxes are certainly welcomed. For example we will cover the rules on deducting commodity wages, gifting of grain to children and charities, tax-free fringe benefits available to farmers and many other related topics.
If you attend the optional Farm Tax Update along with the full two day AICPA Ag Conference, you can qualify for over 25 hours of CPE. I personally look forward to having as many people attend as possible since this is one of my favorite sessions when I can meet and interact with others serving our Farmers and Agri-Business operations.
Here is a link to the AICPA website with information on the conference. The actual agenda should be up soon, but we just want to make sure you get it on your calendar.
The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Indianapolis on Monday July 13 to Wednesday July 15, 2015.
