Grain Stocks and Prospective Plantings Recap:
Quarterly Hogs & Pigs:
The quarterly Hogs and Pigs report came in right on the trade estimates. The nation's hog herd was counted at 72.908 million head. This is a record for the data series that started in 1988. Before 1988 we only had June and December reports. Before 1964 we only had the December. This 72.908 count was 3.1% over last year. That is right on the 3.1% trade estimate (ALDL 2.8%). This "All Hogs and Pigs" includes both the breeding herd and hogs alive that will be marketed over the next six months.
The Wake-Up Call will be back Monday April, 2nd.
