Minnesota Poultry Producers Get Extension to File and Pay

Any poultry producer in the state of Minnesota that has been affected by the H5N2 avian influenza outbreak now has more time to file and pay any Minnesota taxes. In an April 29, 2015 News Release, the Minnesota Revenue Department announced that these farmers will forgive interest and penalties for any tax returns that were due between April 23 and May 27. The disease has been identified in 18 counties and if you are a poultry farmer in one of those counties affected by the flu outbreak, you should contact Minnesota Revenue at 651-556-3003 or 1-800-657-3909.

This reprieve will most likely apply to payroll and any excise taxes that may be owed during that period, since most income tax returns were required to be filed before those dates.
