Like Paul Betz who offered personal confirmation of the fact that CO2 is in fact the "green" gas which is increasing food yields in every corner of the planet , I learned fundamental science as a child in the 1950s . Physics was my favorite flavor , and one of the most memorable proofs was that black and white stones sitting in a desert will come to the same temperature . I have recently implemented the classical textbook physics behind that insight on my website CoSy.com . Bottom line , the mean temperature of any object in our orbit is about 1/21 the temperature the Sun decides to be . The tiny change in our spectrum from the small restoration of carbon to our atmosphere has a minute effect on our temperature . CO2 is a net good .
Paul, you can order greenhouse CO2 generators. It helps new plants grow. Your science teacher was correct. You can also water your plants with soda water which is CO2 in the liquid. They will grow better and actually require less water.
