When Michael Manella first visited Italy to tour his company’s fertilizer plant, he says he noticed some differences in the way Europeans and Americans farm.
"In Italy and Europe, farmers are not as large as in the United States," he says. "They have to put a lot of care into their fields to maximize their output. Even their woods are manicured carefully so they can use every aspect of their property."
Manella works for Puccioni, a company that’s well-established around the world. The company manufactures a variety of high-quality blended NPK, micronutrient and biostimulant products. It was founded in 1888, and it distributes its products to 60 different countries. And after five years of testing and three years of clearing regulatory hurdles, Puccioni hopes to make the U.S. No. 61.
