Land Sale of the Week: $14,000/a in Central Illinois

July 1, 2015 04:30 PM

Mike Walsten

A June 16 auction saw 159 acres of Sangamon County, Illinois cropland pass under the auctioneer's gavel for $14,000 an acre. The ground featured 154 tillable acres and it carried an Optimal Predicted Corn Yield (OPCY) of 161.3 bu. per acre.

Sangamon has been and still remains a strong farmland market with heavy competition when quality tracts become available.

Handling the auction was Luke Lee Gaule, Springfield, 217-523-7272.
