February 12, 2010 03:42 AM

Having a wireless farm is one step closer with a new product from Raven Industries. Slingshot is a combination of wireless connectivity, online tools and precision ag hardware. It allows you to connect your tractors and other equipment to your office computer.

The field hub feeds off all major cell phone networks in North America.

Ryan Molitor from Raven Industries says one of the big advantages is that if farmers have some technical problems with any of the equipment, Raven offers remote support. Meaning that, Raven technicians can take control of the computer remotely, assess the problems and fix them.
In the tractor, operators will be able to read all of their RTK information on one monitor that programs everything.
Molitor explains:
Slingshot is on the market now and can be purchased through any Raven distributor.
