We usually think of monsoon season as something that happens in India beginning around June 1 and running into September. It is accompanied by heavy and often daily rains, and is generally welcomed as it breaks the dry season. It is a big deal there if it comes late. The US also has a monsoon season, with Arizona typically in monsoon season from June 15 to September. Midwest producers can be forgiven for thinking that the monsoon season began 3 months early, and over the wrong continent.
