Trying to stay current on Bt corn traits, efficacy and refuge requirements? Michigan State University has a resource that can help.
Once again, the university has updated its “Handy Bt Trait Table” bulletin ahead of the 2016 growing season.
“This bulletin is a two-page summary of Bt corn trait packages available in the United States, with the spectrum of control, required percent refuge and refuge placement for each,” notes Christina DiFonzo, Michigan State field crops entomologist.
DiFonzo points out there are two versions of the bulletin – one for the northern Corn Belt and one for the South, where refuge requirements are higher due to Bt cotton also being planted.
