Top Producer columnists Chris Barron and Paul Neiffer share a from-the-field crop update from the Evergreen State.

Take a trip to the field to a Washington wheat field with Chris Barron, director of operations and president of Carson and Barron Farms Inc. in Rowley, Iowa, and a financial consultant for Ag View Solutions. He visits with Paul Neiffer, a tax principal with CliftonLarsonAllen and author of the blog, The Farm CPA.

The two Top Producer columnists are in a Washington wheat field with a 30% slope, which is moderate for the area.

“We’ve had a lot of moisture and farmers are seeing almost record wheat yields, Neiffer says. The field in the video is likely averaging 80 to 100 bu. per acre.
