September Hottest in 120 Years - October in like a Hurricane - Global Oct Outlook

SEPTEMBER WEATHER ROUNDUP: The month was on the warm side to say the least with the U.S. overall likely to rank 1st warmest of the past 120 years. The only cool spot was the Pacific Northwest where the month ranked coolest in 8 years.
Chart shows national September temperature trends over the past 25 years and this year was almost off the chart.
Rainfall was on the dry side for most of us with the U.S. trending the driest in 8 years. Heavy rain was just beginning to impact the East Coast after a very dry late Summer.

U.S. rainfall in October will trend the wettest in 6 years and above average for the U.S. overall.
The first week of October rainfall will come in like a hurricane for the East Coast thanks in part to a deep tropical moisture feed ahead of a cold front along with interactions from soon to be Hurricane Joaquin and a large blocking high pressure center in Southeast Canada. Still relatively dry across the Central Corn Belt which is great for harvesting! LARGER VIEW
After such a warm September, we'll finally get some cooler weather to start October in the Central U.S. and Corn Belt.
