Lower Day Except Corn and Soybeans, Exports and a Hint of Frost Supporting Row Crops?
Market Close 081822
Corn and soybeans closed higher on Thursday, with lower prices in every other category. Michelle Rook gets details with Tommy Grisafi of Advance Trading. Strong new crop weekly exports and a hint of early frost in the forecast pushed corn and soybeans. Wheat continued to push to 10 month lows on continued Ukraine export shipments and a higher dollar. Cattle consolidated despite higher cash of $142 in the South and $234 in the north, up $2 to $4. A limit down close on October hogs on poor weekly exports and consolidation. Concerns about China trade relations were also in the background with the U.S. and Taiwan starting trade talks.
