Ag Leaders Hope for Clarity With Trade During AFBF Convention

There are a number of ag leaders and lawmakers at the annual American Farm Bureau Federation conference this week in Nashville. Many say they want to thank President Trump for accomplishing tax reform.

However, the next item on the list is to figure out trade and make the goal for renegotiations clear for farmers and ranchers. Many of the people in attendance hoped to hear the President speak about trade policy. However, he only made a small mention about NAFTA.

AgDay national reporter Betsy Jibben reports on comments from trade representatives Ted McKinney, the undersecretary of ag and foreign ag affairs; Lawrence MacAulay, Canadian minister of ag and agri-foods; Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) and Zippy Duvall, president of the American Farm Bureau Federation.
