    There are a number of ag leaders and lawmakers at the annual American Farm Bureau Federation conference this week in Nashville. Many say they want to thank President Trump for accomplishing tax reform. 


    However, the next item on the list is to figure out trade and make the goal for renegotiations clear for farmers and ranchers. Many of the people in attendance hoped to hear the President speak about trade policy. However, he only made a small mention about NAFTA.

    Monday is a historic day for farmers. For the first time in nearly 30 years, a president is addressing farmers and ranchers at the annual American Farm Bureau convention in Nashville, Tennessee. 


    It’s unknown if the president will give a policy or campaign speech, but experts say January will give us a clearer picture on where the president trade agreements. In addition to AFBF’s convention, there’s another NAFTA 2.0 meeting and the State of the Union address on President Trump’s calendar this month. Ag industry leaders hope the trade clarification may begin in Nashville.

    Have U.S. Beef Exports To Japan Slowed After Tariff Increase?

    Japan is a top buyer of U.S. beef. However, the country slapped a higher tariff on frozen U.S. beef shipments last summer, which will continue through March.

    The tariff worried the beef industry that exports to Japan would come to a halt.
