U.S. Cropland Values Up Nearly 8% in 2021

For 2021, USDA reports the value of the nation’s cropland is $4,420. That’s up $320, or nearly 8%, from 2020. This year’s figure marks a record high in cropland values. See the full USDA report.

This year’s figure marks a record high in cropland values. Until 2021, the value of U.S. cropland had hovered between around $4,000 since 2014.

2021 cropland values

The United States pasture value averaged $1,480 per acre, an increase of $80 per acre (5.7%) from 2020.

Overall farm real estate value, a measurement of the value of all land and buildings on farms, averaged $3,380 per acre for 2021. That’s up $220 per acre, or 7%, from 2020.
