The Mosaic Company has announced two new partnerships and collaborations.

To develop biological alternatives and enhance soil health, Mosaic will work with AgBiome and its proprietary GENESIS platform. AgBiome is working to expand its collection of fully-sequenced microbes. Specific to the Mosaic partnership, the companies say they aim to find solutions that can be added to Mosaic’s soil health portfolio.

“It’s exciting to collaborate with a global agriculture powerhouse like Mosaic,” Tracy Raines, Chief Innovation Officer at AgBiome said in a news release. “Our work together, focused on soil health, demonstrates the grower’s demand for natural, biological solutions to enhance soil nutrition – leading to better crop quality and yield.”

The companies say both businesses are very interested in developing “sustainable solutions.”

“Our collaboration with AgBiome is part of a larger, multi-partner effort at Mosaic to expand the company’s soil health offerings,” Kim Nicholson, Vice President–Ag Technology and Innovation at The Mosaic Company said in a news release. “Now more than ever, growers are interested in engaging with companies that recognize the need for soil conservation strategies. Our work with AgBiome is expected to expand our innovative products in that space.”

Additionally, Mosaic is partnering with Sound Agriculture to develop a micronutrient efficiency product for corn and soybeans in North America and South America.

The co-developed product will be a proprietary mix of Sound Agriculture’s bio-inspired chemistry and is expected for launch in the U.S. by 2023.

“Mosaic is committed to providing advances in soil health for our customers and products that have the potential to minimize fertilizer loss to the environment,” said Mosaic’s Nicholson. “Sound’s innovative technology will complement our product portfolio, providing growers with an in-season solution to enhance fertilizer efficiency and optimize production.”

Sound Agriculture will provide the manufacturing and Mosaic will oversee field development, regulatory, sales and marketing efforts.

“Partnering with Mosaic will help us quickly scale our technology by leveraging their significant technical expertise and market access,” Adam Litle, CEO of Sound Agriculture said. “We’re excited to find a partner who shares our passion for positively impacting agriculture practices, improving the bottom line for growers and increasing soil health.”
