Frightening moments caught on camera in Jefferson, Iowa: an explosion and fire at a grain elevator.
The grain elevator explosion happened north west of Des Moines at Landus Cooperative. Reports show no one was injured in the explosion.
Landus Cooperative says smoldering grain in a self-contained bin next to the grain elevator caused it. The co-op says it plans to reopen the facility this fall.
The Landus grain elevator located in Jefferson, Iowa is expected to resume grain receiving and corn drying operations in time for this year’s fall harvest following a dust explosion on Friday, May 14.

The video was captured on security at a neighboring business which told AgDay us the fire is still smoldering.
