On National Dog Day Aug. 26, Maggie was named as America’s Best Farm Dog, brought to you by New Holland, in a special award ceremony at Farm Journal Field Days. (Login or register here to watch the ceremony at the New Holland booth). 

The search for top dog began in July, and farm families across the country cast their vote on these precious pooches to narrow the field to these 11 finalists, with an alternate because of a three-way tie:

Zoe, Maggie, and Zoey were named as the top three finalists by a panel of judges based on these criteria: 

• Originality of photo/video (50%); 
• Relation and support to agriculture (25%); and 
• Overall fun and creativity (25%).

As a pawsitively perfect end to this pup’s story, Stephanie Wilburn, Maggie’s human companion, shared the news Maggie is donating her $400 prize to Stephanie’s cousin Amanda.
