What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? “I’m thankful for being involved in agriculture,” says Jerry Gulke, president of the Gulke Group.

“Thanksgiving gives us time pause and reflect on the previous year,” he says and perhaps traders will have a more positive attitude after Thanksgiving.

Every year is different but after Thanksgiving, traders have time to reflect and look back on what’s happened for the year and often markets change the prevailing trend. Being in a basically sideways trading position, there’s a possibility to go higher but time will tell.

Traders will also be watching South America’s weather more closely, too. Weather is a bigger factor when the crop gets more mature as time can run out to recover. December and January, we know from experience, is pretty important down there” Gulke says.
