It is an embarrassment for the taxpayers to subsidize excess production of basic commodities, creating 'unfair dumping' on other countries and a perfect opportunity for political manipulation. In addition, the so-called Farm Bill continues to address the wants of the biggest, most prosperous producers, corporate input providers and beneficiaries, while ignoring the needs of the smallest food producers. And our rural communities are in constant decline.

The gentleman from South Dakota hit the nail on the head about smaller feedlots shutting down at about the 31-32 minute mark. The problem started long before Trump showed up with NAFTA shutting down smaller feedlots. If farmers want free trade as they say, they need to rethink accepting government subsidies.
