Julie (Douglas) Deering

An Indiana farm girl, Julie is managing editor of Top Producer magazine. She has been covering agriculture news for nearly 10 years, writing about a variety of topics from farm economics and agronomics to the livestock and seed industries. She moved to East Central Missouri from northern Virginia where she served as director of communications for the American Seed Trade Association for almost three years. She previously worked as editor of Ag Answers for Purdue University and The Ohio State University and information writer for the Indiana State Department of Agriculture. Julie is a graduate of Purdue University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Communication. She is based out of the Mexico, MO., at Farm Journal’s editorial headquarters.
