Brazilian and Chinese officials are re-discussing a protocol aimed at allowing Brazilian corn to be shipped to China sooner than initially intended, according to Brazil’s ag minister. He said the protocol is being re-discussed to allow Brazilian corn to be shipped to China in the second half of the year, and not only in 2023, as Brazil is harvesting a bumper second corn crop.

With 62% of the safrinha corn crop harvested, AgRural says output reached 50 MMT. The firm now expects Brazil’s second corn crop to reach a record 87.3 MMT, up 800,000 MT from its previous forecast.
