The deafening roar of a tractor engine makes children quickly cover their ears with their hands, and their eyes grow wide with wonder. A rumbling vibration envelops the spectators as they focus on the next tractor-pull participant. The big machine travels swiftly down the track, and the excitement builds when the tractor pulls more and more weight. Finally, black smoke and spinning wheels end the run, and the crowd bursts into appreciative applause.
Tractor pulls are a unique experience. Participants are passionate about making their tractors as powerful as possible and fans avidly follow their favorites. Case IH is proud to be a continuing corporate sponsor for 13 years.
“It’s a really natural relationship,” says Emily Harringa, referring to the sponsorship Case IH has with the National Tractor Pullers Association (NTPA) and the Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pulling Association (OTTPA). Harringa, a regional marketing manager for Case IH, says, “Their fans are aligned well with Case IH. Some of them are growers and farmers, some are landowners and some are equipment enthusiasts, so it makes for a good cultural alignment.”
SuperFans
Case IH established the SuperFan Contest some years ago when the grand prize was an expense-paid trip to the experience center in Racine, Wisconsin.
“It was well-received, and fans appreciated the opportunity to see where and how Case IH tractors are made,” says Harringa.
Last year, the contest was restructured so contestants would have the opportunity to win Case IH equipment. In 2024, the grand prize winner for both tractor-pulling organizations won a Farmall 25SC (subcompact) tractor with a loader and mower deck and a $4,000 cash prize.

NTPA Grand Prize Winner
“We had a tremendous response with more than 2,300 entries from April through October for the NTPA contest,” recalls Harringa. “We [Case IH personnel], along with representatives from NTPA, drew six winners at random from all the entries on November 6, 2024. The first name drawn was our grand prize winner and then we had five runners-up. They each received an impressive merchandise and toy package provided by both NTPA and Case IH.”
Josh Auxier from north central Ohio was the 2024 NTPA grand prize winner. He and his family were presented with the new Farmall 25SC and the Case IH/NTPA gift package at the Redline Equipment Case IH dealership in Portage, Ohio.
“At first, I didn’t believe it,” says Auxier. “I’d put my name in way before they did the drawing so I’d completely forgotten about it. I was skeptical at first, but then when I realized it was real, it was very exciting.”
Auxier worked with Harringa throughout the process, “and it was super easy,” he says. “We sent the paperwork straight back to her and the communication was excellent.”
When the day of the presentation arrived, Auxier wasn’t sure whether the setting would be kid-friendly, but his two-year-old son loves tractors and trucks, so Auxier was determined to bring him.
On December 19, the family traveled to Bowling Green, Ohio, for a celebration. Representatives of Redline Equipment, Case IH and the NTPA were present.
“They were very welcoming, and the detail to customer service was excellent,” Auxier recalls.
“They had lots of extra toys and gifts for the kids. Some of the Redline folks were even on the floor playing with my son.”
“He never hesitated to say thank you and expressed how eager he was to call that piece of equipment his own,” says Harringa with a smile. “His only request was that we not schedule the presentation on December 9, as that was the day his daughter was born.”
Gaining a New Customer
Auxier received not just a new Farmall 25SC, but also instructions on how to use and maintain it. He now has a dealership just a few miles from his home.
Auxier and his son have spent a lot of time driving the tractor around their property, and he’s taught his son how to use some of the controls.
“We definitely have some projects lined up in the spring,” Auxier says. “We have a lot of landscaping to do, and we’re putting in another patio, so the tractor will be put to good use.”
“We were able to establish a new relationship between a customer and a dealer,” says Harringa. “These kinds of activities align well with Case IH and our core values, where our customers and Case IH fans come first. And with the integrity of the two tractor-pulling organizations, it’s just a match made in heaven.”
