ADM Commits to Storing and Capturing Carbon in Unique Project

One of the companies looking into carbon capture and storage commercially is ADM. The company is announcing a milestone in a first-of-its kind project.

ADM reporting it was able to accept and store one million metric tons of carbon dioxide over a period of three years.That’s the equivalent of annual emissions from more than a million passenger cars.

The project taking place next to ADM’s corn processing plant in Decatur, Illinois. It involved 20,000 feet of wells to successfully inject carbon dioxide from ADM’s processing plant more than 6,500 feet underground.
