Hard red spring wheat is predominantly grown in just four U.S. states—North and South Dakota, Minnesota and Montana. The growers in this productive area of the High Plains form a friendly, welcoming community united by the shared goal of helping feed the world during a time of diminished wheat supply.

These growers, however, are also always looking for a competitive edge—for ways to increase profitability and the value of their farms in a sustainable way. That’s why an increasing number of farmers are discovering Thrivus™ bio-inoculant from Lavie Bio. By improving nutrient availability and uptake, Thrivus™ maximizes production in sub-optimal regions within fields, narrowing performance variability. The result: an average yield increase of three to four bushels per acre.

In extensive pre-launch trials and in 2022 commercial use, Thrivus™  demonstrated improved root branching and plant biomass . Additionally, Thrivus™ boosts natural defenses and stress tolerances, enabling increased plant health and higher overall yields.

“Early in the growing season at our trial locations in eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota, we’ve seen increased germination, emergence and vigor,” said Marcus Mack, a researcher at AgriMAX, which has been conducting research on 80-acre split trials in and out of the Red River Valley. “The increased vigor put the Thrivus™-treated acres ahead of the standard treatment, with more above-ground early biomass, which was noticeable to the naked eye.”

The goal of AgriMAX’s research is to efficiently maximize yields on marginal, less profitable acres. Thrivus™ has shown the ability to help achieve this goal. “On farm acres, it is important to fight for every additional bushel,” Mack said. “Thrivus™ stacks on top of your traditionally used fungicide and/or insecticide seed treatment.”

Developed using AI-supported science, Thrivus™ is delivering game-changing results for hard red spring wheat growers. Lavie Bio has made all the data available for growers to evaluate for themselves. Farmers that try Thrivus™ out require no change to current operations. With such a low-risk and high-reward offer, it’s no surprise that interest within this community of growers continues to gain momentum.

While awaiting final yield data from this year’s crop, Marcus Mack at AgriMAX is optimistic that Thrivus™ could be a solution for the growers who rely on his company’s research. “We recommend growers consider trying Thrivus™ on their farm’s hard red spring wheat acres to see if this product is a good fit for your operation.”
