Case IH Unveils Its Colossal Class IX Axial-Flow® Combine—the 9120. “It’s the biggest combine, with the highest horsepower in North America,” says Leo Bose, Case IH combine marketing manager. With 483 rated horsepower, maximum power of 523 hp and a 350-bushel grain tank, the (Class 9) 9120 is for producers who demand the highest productivity in the toughest conditions.
Bose offers further explanation: “It’s for larger operators looking for high-end productivity features like CVT drives and rotor-reversing, combined with Axial-Flow single-rotor combine technology. Fewer moving parts, fewer belts, gentle grain-on-grain threshing, more grain savings, matched capacity – all the Axial-Flow core principles that revolutionized the industry more than 30 years ago are still here, just on a larger scale.”
In addition to the new 9120 “big brother” the family of Axial-Flow 20 Series combines include:
* 7120 (replaces 7010) – a Class VII combine with 360 rated hp, 415 maximum hp and 315 bushel grain tank capacity
* 8120 (replaces 8010) – a Class VIII combine with 420 rated hp, 462 maximum hp and 350 bushel grain tank capacity
Grain tanks on the 7120, 8120 and 9120 are equipped with quick-folding grain tank extensions that don’t require tools. Standard 21-foot – and optional 24-foot – unload augers provide an unload rate of 3.2 bushels per second.
Track versions available
“Case IH Axial-Flow combines already come with a wide variety of tire options to meet the needs of North American producers,” Bose explains. “And we’ve just added another one. The 8120 and 9120 models can be equipped with the rugged, triangular Quadtrac® track system on the front axle, for greater floatation and less soil compaction.” The proven Quadtrac design uses two 36-inch wide rubber tracks, which reduce ground pressure by 50 to 60 percent compared to dual drive tires, with only minimal soil disturbance, according to Case IH.
A combine in every class
Case IH now has two Class VII models. The 20 Series 7120 is joined by the new Case IH Axial-Flow 7088, which is based on the renowned Case IH “heritage” 88 Series of Axial-Flow combines. “A lot of our customers prefer the simplicity of our previous 2577 and 2588 offerings, but they require additional capacity,” Bose says. “Case IH engineers designed the Axial-Flow 7088 specifically for those customers.”
The 7088 is one of three Axial-Flow combines in the Case IH 88 Series line-up, which also includes the Class V 5088 and Class VI 6088.
