POET Could Expand Ethanol Production by 3 Billion Gallons Through Acquisition

Reuters reported POET is in talks with Flint Hills Resources to buy all its ethanol assets. The possible deal would increase POET’s production capacity to up to 3 billion gallons a year.

The biggest biofuels producer in the U.S. is looking to grow and could do so through an acquisition.

Reuters reported POET is in talks with Flint Hills Resources to buy all its ethanol assets. The possible deal would increase POET’s production capacity to up to 3 billion gallons a year.

Flint Hills is currently the fifth-largest ethanol producer in the U.S. with a large footprint in mainly Iowa.
Its six ethanol plants produce 800-million gallons of the renewable fuel each year.
