Dealing with the nightmare of problem weeds just got a little easier thanks to Reviton’s recent label expansion.

“This spring, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency approved the use of Reviton for several more crops,” says Wade Firestone, Vice President of Sales and Marketing with HELM Crop Solutions. “This label expansion means growers can now rely on Reviton for even more burndown and harvest aid opportunities, ensuring vigorous weed control across a wider range of crops with the same fast-acting, broad-spectrum control they’ve come to rely on.”

In addition to field corn, cotton, soybeans and wheat, Reviton is now approved for use on the following crops:

- Barley
- Canola
- Corn (popcorn, sweet)
- Grain sorghum (milo)
- Pulse crops (dry peas)
- Peanuts

The label changes also include crucial information on crop rotation intervals. These improved planting intervals allow growers to maximize the effectiveness of Reviton while allowing them to make timely applications closer to planting for more flexibility.

“These intervals are tailored to provide flexibility and efficiency in crop management, allowing growers to plan their planting schedules with confidence,” says Firestone.

Reviton’s novel PPO active ingredient and easy-to-use formulation make it a strong choice to anchor burndown programs while offering crop rotation flexibility and serving as a valuable tool in desiccant and defoliant programs.

This tool also delivers targeted, effective weed control during cotton layby through hooded, post-directed applications. Field trials across the cotton belt show Reviton offers rapid, consistent control of broadleaf weeds, with visible effects appearing within 24-48 hours and strong crop safety and efficacy confirmed through harvest.

Reviton not only strengthens your existing weed control system, but it’s a helpful instrument to manage herbicide-resistant weeds. Whenever you use an herbicide, you’re selecting for resistance, but this tool can help growers lower their risk.

That’s because Reviton’s active ingredient, Tergeo®, is a group 14 PPO inhibitor that has never been used before in the U.S. And, unlike most other PPO inhibitors, Reviton® has a unique ability to control grass species like giant and green foxtail.

Adding Reviton to your burndown program can help reduce selection pressure on dicamba, 2,4-D and even glyphosate.

Keep in mind that while Reviton is a friendly tank mix partner with other common herbicides, it’s best practice to conduct a jar test to assess compatibility before application.

Reviton should be applied to actively growing weeds 5 inches or less. Application to weeds greater than 5 inches, stressed, mown or grazed may result in unacceptable control.
