Ken Ferrie’s Foundation to Take Yields to the Next Level

The Systems Approach helps you continuously improve and analyze production practices.

What is the Systems Approach? Ken Ferrie explains in the second episode of Corn College TV.

“The Systems Approach provides the foundation for taking yields to the next level,” says Farm Journal Field Agronomist Ken Ferrie. “It helps farmers understand how many different variables there are to manage to achieve top yields.”

Ferrie explains there are so many areas the farmer has to be on top of including: disease, insects, soil structure, soil density and more.

“It’s easy to focus on one thing, but farmers need to bring it all together and the grower should know how important each component of this approach is,” Ferrie says.
