It is not a surprise—or an accident—that growers of hard red spring wheat are seeing increased yields by using new Thrivus™ bio-inoculant. Lavie Bio formulated their groundbreaking product to consistently achieve this level of performance. In extensive testing and early commercial use, Thrivus™ has boosted yields by three to four bushels per acre and illustrates a 4-1 return on investment.

Why Is Thrivus™ So Special?
“Our technology allowed us to bring two microbes together that have nothing to do with ag,” explains Dor Kestecher, vice president of Business Development at Lavie Bio. Only by using artificial intelligence (AI) technology was the company able to isolate these microbes.

“Science could not have chosen these microbes without AI,” says Kestecher. “There must be a fit between the microbe and the crop, and it would take years to find that match without AI. We are tapping into a much larger sample, thanks to our AI platform.”

Kestecher points out that the discovery leading to the creation of Thrivus™ was enabled by the data-driven AI platform of parent company Evogene, which was originally developed for medical use. “When you look at other companies, the majority are in a very specific area—a narrow scope of microbes,” he explains. “We use a much broader scope.”

It is the synergistic combination of two bacterial strains that increases plant health. “The microbes have each other’s back, and they’re also supporting the crop,” says Kestecher. “They know how to fight stressful conditions, helping the plant grow strong and get through the season.” These microbes are naturally occurring and will not interfere with the environment.
