Study finds Pivot Bio PROVEN® 40 Increases Grower Revenue

Having completed the broadest U.S. in-plant nitrogen study conducted in a single growing season in 2022, Pivot Bio measured and verified product performance across more than 2,100 on-farm fields, encompassing 1.3 million acres.

Nitrogen is often the most limiting factor when it comes to crop productivity. A recent three-year study concluded that Pivot Bio’s microbial products effectively deliver nitrogen while delivering greater ROI to the grower.

Precision Technology Institute recently published the results of a 2020-2022 study that concluded no yield impact when synthetic nitrogen is replaced with PROVEN® 40 and it supported a 25% lower nitrogen rate without losing corn yield, while at the same time increasing revenue by +$12.56/A. The study goes on to show that the 2022 ROI was even greater, as PTI found an additional profit of $16.50/A with Pivot Bio PROVEN® 40.

“Pivot Bio delivers the nitrogen plants require while improving farmers’ bottom lines. In studies year after year, Pivot Bio microbes continue to outperform synthetic nitrogen fertilizer,” said Erik Christian, associate director, agronomy at Pivot Bio. “We recognize partnering with independent researchers is one of the most important activities we undertake. These studies allow us to provide growers with information to help them be more familiar with how our products can work on their operations.”

Having completed the broadest U.S. in-plant nitrogen study conducted in a single growing season in 2022, Pivot Bio measured and verified product performance across more than 2,100 on-farm fields, encompassing 1.3 million acres. Side-by-side comparisons show that the plants where Pivot Bio microbes were used have 14% more nitrogen in the plant and 12% more plant biomass over traditional synthetic fertilizers, demonstrating the nitrogen efficacy of Pivot Bio’s products.

More nitrogen in the plant leads to healthier and more resilient crops. Pivot Bio’s nitrogen producing microbes can help make production more predictable, generate a better ROI, and make nutrient management easier.” said Christian.
