Forecasters Monday morning say more fall-like conditions are expected in much of the U.S. this week, with a cold air mass from Canada expected to push southward into the north-central portions of the U.S.

    Temps near to possibly below the freezing mark are likely Tuesday morning, with temps to drop slightly in the high Plains as the week progresses. Later in the week, the freezing temps are expected to make their move to northern Iowa and Illinois, although a “hard freeze” is not anticipated this week.

Drier conditions are expected to continue, a plus for producers working to get crops harvested. Winter wheat planting should also progress quickly in the Plains.
