Stats Canada Wheat Stocks Lower Than Feared

But canola stocks set new record.

Statistics Canada this morning released its grain stocks report and traders had lofty expectations heading into the report given record crops and troubles with transporting grain. While still lofty, total wheat stocks at 28.381 MMT came in lower than traders’ average guess of 28.9 MMT. Meanwhile, canola stocks at 12.597 MMT came in above expectations of 12.3 MMT. The canola stocks figure is a record.
